Graham Whiteman Alignment Therapy

Alignment Therapy

'release of pain and to bring the body back into balance and harmony.'

Alignment Therapy is a healing process that involves 'Gentle Body Adjustment'. It works on the structure of the physical body to re-align the bones and bring about a release in the muscle and nerves to allow for the release of pain and to bring the body back into balance and harmony. This work was developed by Ann Evans over a number of years working with healing.

I have been studying this work with Ann for over three years and have always been amazed at its simplicity and gentleness, and I have seen many people leave the sessions 'pain free'.

Adjustments.

The atmosphere is relaxed and the client clothed. There is constant conferring between the therapist and the client who sits-up much of the time. Suggestions are discussed as to how to prevent a repeat of the same ailment and sometimes a partner can learn how to check if adjustments are needed again. There are no sudden movements and the work is done in as friendly and informal an atmosphere as possible.

You may ask, what will prevent the joint returning to the painful position?

Firstly, the body wants to be right and out of pain. As soon as it is returned to the correct position, the autonomic brain will tend to relax the muscles and the pain will gradually go. If it is done at once, it may take only minutes. The longer the joint is left, the longer the pain usually takes to disappear. However, the acute pain will normally go at once.
